Effective date: to be set at launch

CarbonVM is operated by a sole proprietor based in Georgia, United States. This policy describes what information CarbonVM collects, how it is used, and how it is handled.

Information collected

During the interest application process, CarbonVM collects your name, email address, organization, and a description of your intended use case. This information is collected solely to evaluate your application.

If you proceed to registration, identity verification is handled by Stripe Identity, a third-party service operated by Stripe, Inc. CarbonVM receives confirmation of verification status from Stripe but does not directly receive or store your identity documents. Stripe's handling of that data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

CarbonVM may collect technical information associated with your account and usage for the purposes of operating the service and maintaining the security and integrity of the platform.

How information is used

Interest application data is used only to evaluate and respond to your application. If CarbonVM launches and you submitted interest, your email may be used to notify you. After that notification, interest application data is deleted.

Account data for registered users is used to operate and maintain your access to the service, to communicate with you about your account, and to enforce CarbonVM's Terms of Service.

Data retention

Interest application data is retained only until the interest period concludes. Following any launch notification, this data is deleted.

If you are a registered user and delete your account, your account data is retained for 90 days following deletion before being permanently removed. This retention period exists to comply with legal obligations and to resolve any outstanding disputes.

Disclosure of information

CarbonVM does not sell your personal information. CarbonVM does not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

CarbonVM may disclose information when required to do so by law, including in response to valid legal process such as a court order, subpoena, or other lawful request from a governmental authority. CarbonVM may also disclose information when CarbonVM believes in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of CarbonVM, its users, or the public.

Identity verification is processed by Stripe Identity. CarbonVM uses Stripe for payment processing. These third parties have their own privacy policies governing their handling of your data.

Geographic restrictions

CarbonVM does not offer services to individuals or organizations located in countries subject to applicable U.S. export controls or economic sanctions, including those administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). CarbonVM also reserves the right to restrict access in additional jurisdictions at its sole discretion.

CarbonVM takes reasonable technical measures to protect the information it holds. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and CarbonVM cannot guarantee absolute security.
